1.4547 Steel Corrosion Resistant EN 10028-7 Compliant Blind Flange Slip on Plate Flange
1.4547 steel is a high-alloy austenitic stainless steel, also known under trade names like Superaustenitic stainless or by EN designation X1CrNiMoCuN20-18-7. It is designed for excellent corrosion resistance, especially in chloride-containing and acidic environments such as seawater and chemical processing applications.
Typical chemical composition of 1.4547 (in weight percent, approximate ranges):
- Carbon (C): ≤ 0.02%
- Silicon (Si): ≤ 0.7%
- Manganese (Mn): ≤ 2.0%
- Phosphorus (P): ≤ 0.03%
- Sulfur (S): ≤ 0.01%
- Chromium (Cr): 19.5 – 20.5%
- Nickel (Ni): 17.5 – 18.5%
- Molybdenum (Mo): 6.0 – 6.5%
- Copper (Cu): 0.5 – 1.5%
- Nitrogen (N): 0.18 – 0.25%
- High Chromium (≈20%) + Molybdenum (≈6%) + Nitrogen (≈0.2%): Provides very high pitting and crevice corrosion resistance, significantly better than standard 316L stainless steel. Suitable for aggressive chloride environments and many acids.
- High Nickel (≈18%): Stabilizes austenitic structure; improves toughness and corrosion resistance.
- Copper Addition: Improves resistance to certain reducing acids, especially sulfuric acid.
- Very Low Carbon Content: Minimizes risk of carbide precipitation and intergranular corrosion after welding.
For exact values required for design or certification purposes, always refer to the relevant material standard (e.g., EN 10088) or the mill test certificate (MTC) from your steel supplier, as composition can vary slightly by producer within the allowed range.
