On all Vogele crawler pavers, the power unit is friction-locked to the drive sprocket. The drive sprocket turns the crawler unit by meshing with the track chain, transmitting the drive torque of the corresponding hydraulic motor to the chain through the gearbox, which sets the crawler unit in motion.
