When the machine encounters an obstacle, the spring absorbs the impact applied to the front idler. In addition, it adjusts the chain's tension by injecting grease into the cylinder through the control valve, which moves the recoil spring forward through hydraulic pressure. Conversely, by allowing grease to leak from the valve, the recoil spring moves backward, thereby reducing the tension of the chain. When the machine moves backward, the recoil spring is loaded.
