IEC 60331 BS 6387 BS 8491 Wire Cable Circuit Integrity Tester
This multi-core cable testing equipment is designed for fire resistance burn testing, ensuring circuit integrity under extreme conditions as per international standards.
Technical Parameters
1. Fire Resistance Test
The fire resistance test bench includes the following components:
1.1 Cable Support System
Cables are clamped horizontally at both ends with the middle section fixed by two metal rings spaced 300mm apart. For unarmored cables under 10mm diameter, three metal rings are used with approximately 150mm spacing.
1.2 Continuous Detection Device
During testing, current passes through all cable cores using a three-phase star-connected transformer or single-phase transformers with sufficient capacity to maintain maximum allowable leakage current of 3A. Each core connects to a lamp with approximately 0.25A current at rated cable voltage.
1.3 Heat Source
  • Burner: 610mm long tube gas burner with forced methane and dense flame
  • Temperature Measurement: 2mm diameter armored thermometer positioned 75mm above burner, parallel to air inlet
  • Test Flame Temperature & Time (BS6387 combustion levels):

2. Water and Fire Resistance Test
This comprehensive test includes the following components:
2.1 Cable Support System
Cables connect to metal brackets composed of two 25mm wide steel plates, fixed with metal clips at 200mm spacing. All metal frames are properly grounded.
2.2 Continuous Detection Device
Three single-phase transformers provide current through all cable cores, maintaining maximum allowable leakage current of 3A. Each core connects to a lamp with approximately 0.25A current at rated voltage.
2.3 Heat Source
  • Burner: 400mm long strip burner capable of testing 400mm cable samples with bright flame at 650℃ ± 40℃
  • Temperature Measurement: 2mm diameter armored thermometer positioned on cable lower surface
  • Test Flame Temperature: 650℃± 40℃
  • Water Spray System: Nozzle installed on test bracket with water pressure of 250-350KPa, delivering 0.25-0.30 liters per square meter
  • Collection Tray: Approximately 100mm wide * 400mm long tray positioned centrally to measure water flow rate
