ASTM D149 IEC 60243 Voltage Breakdown Tester Machine
Product Overview
This insulation material breakdown voltage testing equipment is designed for solid insulating materials including plastics, films, resins, mica, ceramics, silicone, glass, insulating varnishes, and more. It measures breakdown strength and withstand voltage time when exposed to power-frequency (48–62 Hz) AC voltage or corresponding DC voltage in air or liquid medium.
Testing Capabilities
The machine supports both continuous and step-by-step voltage boosting methods:
- Apply AC or DC voltage until breakdown occurs, then measure breakdown voltage and calculate dielectric strength
- Use rapid boost method to quickly raise voltage to preset value and hold - if sample doesn't break down within set time, it passes withstand voltage test
