This machine determines the indentation hardness of porous elastic materials according to ASTM D3574 and ISO 2439 standards. It accurately measures polyurethane sponge foam specimens and can evaluate indentation hardness for various foam materials, including seat components such as backrests and seat cushions.

The sponge foam compression stress test places the specimen between upper and lower platens. The upper platen compresses the specimen at a specified speed to achieve the required indentation depth according to national standard methods (A, B, or C method).
