BS EN 1335 Castor & Chair Base Durability Testing Rig | Bifma X5.1 Office Chair Base Caster Fatigue Life Testing Machine
This testing machine is designed for comprehensive evaluation of office chairs with casters or chair wheels. It assesses the durability of casters and chair frames under simulated fatigue pressure and wear conditions caused by forward and backward chair movement.
A standardized load of 113 kg is applied to the seat surface while the clamping fixture, driven by a motor and synchronous belt, moves the office chair or chair frame back and forth. This process evaluates the wear life of casters under controlled conditions with adjustable stroke, speed, and cycle count parameters.
Design criteria: BIFMA X5.1 Clause 17 - Durability test of casters/chair frames with foot chairs.
- Load-bearing base with 23 kg weight divided into 9 equal parts, plus additional 10 kg weights for each square, totaling 113 kg
- Removable base obstacle block for smooth surface obstacle-free testing configurations
