Product Overview

Remote control large current short circuit devices are designed according to standard requirements of various kinds of battery short circuit tests. This equipment applies to multiple standard specifications including GB, IEC, EN, UN38.3, UL, and QC/T standards for lithium-ion batteries used in electric vehicles and other applications.

According to standard requirements, the short circuit device must conform to internal resistance range <5mΩ (or 20mΩ) to measure the maximum short-circuit current required for testing.

Equipment Design

This device is engineered to withstand large current impacts while measuring maximum short-circuit current. We utilize industrial-level DC electromagnetic contactors, pure-copper wiring terminals, and internal copper plates to effectively improve cooling performance and ensure security during large current short circuit operations.

The design effectively reduces test equipment loss and ensures the accuracy of test data through robust construction and optimized thermal management.

Control System

Utilizes PLC human-machine interface control mode with relay contactors as switching elements. Test conditions are set on the PLC interface, and contactor actuation generates strong short-circuit current meeting test requirements.

The loop resistance (contactor resistance + connecting pin wiring + battery clamp) is maintained below 5mΩ (or 20mΩ), with maximum short-circuit current capacity of 5000A. Battery surface temperature, voltage, and current data are detected by collection elements and fed back to the PLC main control program.

Short Circuit Test Procedure
  1. Charge battery module fully
  2. Make the battery module short circuit for 10 minutes with external circuit resistance <5mΩ
  3. Observe for one hour

Qualification Requirement: Single battery must not explode or burn.

Equipment Features
Control System

PLC touch human-machine interface with simple, intuitive operation. Automatically records battery surface temperature, current, voltage, and resistance during testing with full automatic control of test processes.

Box Structure

Inner box: 2mm SUS#304 stainless steel. Outer box: 2.0mm cold-rolled plate stoving varnish. Features smoke exhaust and ventilation with air inlet on left side and exhaust port on top for safe discharge of testing gases.

Contactor System

Remote switching on/off with AC operating voltage to 220V. Rated working current 10A AC with magnetic blow-out arc quenching system. Features red copper main contacts for lower contact resistance and faster reaction speed.

Remote Control

Long distance wireless control with reliable, stable operation. Includes self-locking and interlock functions with strong anti-interference capability and long service life.
