Electric pencil hardness testing machine is used to test coating hardness of all kinds of finished products, including mobile phone shells, MP3/MP4 shells, notebook computer shells, and other digital product shells. The machine features electric control with an AC adjustable speed motor for left and right movement, offering low noise and stable operation.
The hardness pencil is used to scratch the surface of the coating to test surface hardness. The hardness pencil is fixed at a 45° angle, with the pencil tip contacting the coating surface under proper load. The test platform moves the coating surface past the pencil tip at a specified speed (JIS standard 0.5 mm/s). The softest pencil hardness level that causes no damage (scratches) is considered the hardness of the coating layer.
