The test places the sample between upper and lower platens. The upper platen compresses the sample at a predetermined speed to the specified concavity according to ASTM D3574 methods (A, B, or C). The load element feeds pressure data to the controller for processing and display, accurately measuring indentation hardness of sponge, foam, and similar materials.
