Product Description
Invar 36 is a nickel-iron alloy containing 36% nickel with a thermal expansion rate approximately one-tenth that of carbon steel. This material maintains nearly constant dimensions across normal atmospheric temperatures and exhibits a low coefficient of expansion from cryogenic temperatures up to 500°F. The alloy also provides excellent strength and toughness at cryogenic temperatures and can be processed using standard methods similar to austenitic stainless steels.
