Non destructive test is performed according to NDT standard Level 2 with combination of eddy and ultrasonic to guarantee material quality without any defect.
Each of drill pipe is treated by shot peening. After shot peening treatment, surface of drill pipe and thread gets residual pressure stress. This stress can improve drill pipe anti-fatigue service life. Shot peening treatment on thread can help thread compound adhering to thread. Thread service life is improved.

HDD drill pipe is a tool applicable for transferring torque and tension of drillers in the process of directional drilling construction. Due to the fact that it has to bear torsion, tension, bending, friction and vibration in the process of directional construction, the requirements for processing process are very strict.
The raw materials selected by our company are all the alloy structure steels for geographical usage produced by Baogang Steel. After laboratory tests, both ends of a pipe are upsetted and proceeded to overall heat treatment, then friction welded. Before finished drill pipes are plated and packaged, a series of tests have to be implemented including hardness, metallurgical structure, physical performances, etc.
Quality Control
Quality control engineers make test for each parameter by monomial parameter instrument of thread.
Operators will inspect each product with thread guge and recording
the datas after finish precessing thread.
