TRICONEX Invensys 4119A Enhanced Intelligent Communication Module
The Model 4119A Enhanced Intelligent Communication Module (EICM) enables seamless communication between Tricon systems and external devices including Modbus masters and slaves, TriStation 1131, and printers.
Communication Interfaces & Capabilities
Each EICM module features four serial ports and one parallel port that operate concurrently, supporting multiple communication protocols simultaneously.
Modbus Connectivity Options
- RS-232 point-to-point interface: Supports one master and one slave
- RS-485 interface: Supports one master and up to 32 slaves
- RS-485 network range: Up to 4,000 feet (1,200 meters) using one or two twisted-pair wires
- Communication modes: RTU or ASCII mode operation

System Integration Features
The EICM supports online replacement capability, allowing maintenance without system shutdown. Note: Hot-spare functionality is not available for this module.
Variable Addressing System
Tricon programs use variable names while Modbus devices require numeric addresses. TriStation 1131 assigns five-digit alias numbers to Tricon variables for seamless Modbus communication.
