BROWN FUSED ALUMINA FOR BONDED ABRASIVES

Brown Fused Alumina, also called Brown aluminum oxide, brown corundum, artificial corundum, BFA, etc, is made by melting and reducing in electric furnace over 2200°C with three raw materials of bauxite, anthracite and iron chip. Then made into different grain size through cooling crystallization, sort, crush, magnetic separation, screen size, blow cleaning etc.. Its main chemical constituent is Al2O3 and small quantity of TiO2, Fe2O3, SiO2 etc. It has characteristics of high hardness, great toughness and sharpness, is main raw material for bonded abrasives like cutting discs and grinding wheels, etc.
