WATER BASED ALKYD RESIN WL-0310B

The paints based on alkyd resins, the molecules of the structure, in particular, create strong structural interactions involving the formation of films able to cover any type of surface by protecting against aging, weather and wear. Historically, the paints made from alkyd resins have been among the first to be used in the construction industry, in particular in the production of exterior paints and enamels, and in the production of products for the treatment of surfaces exposed to particularly arduous conditions, for example various ferrous metal substrates such as structural steel, railings, equipment and machinery.

The enamel paints and iron oxide red primers were formulated with the water soluble alkyd resins and their performance were evaluated by monitoring adhesion, viscosity, dry time, gloss, impact resistance and hardness, adhesion, flexibility. The corrosion resistance properties of the coatings were evaluated by salt spray. It is observed that alkyd resin WL-0310B has better mechanical and anticorrosive properties than the rest of the water soluble polymers.
