COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Test Cassette
Qualitative lateral flow immunoassay for SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid antigen detection in nasopharyngeal and oropharyngeal swab specimens.
Intended Use
Designed for qualitative detection of SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid antigens in nasopharyngeal and oropharyngeal swab samples from individuals suspected of COVID-19 by healthcare providers.
Storage and Stability
Store in sealed pouch at 4-30°C (40-86°F). Stable until printed expiration date. Use within one hour after opening pouch. Avoid prolonged exposure to hot and humid environments.
Sample Collection Procedures
Nasopharyngeal Swab:
- Insert flexible shaft swab through nostril parallel to palate until resistance is encountered
- Swab should reach depth equal to distance from nostrils to outer ear opening
- Gently rub and roll swab, leave in place for several seconds
- Slowly remove while rotating
Oropharyngeal Swab:
- Insert swab into posterior pharynx and tonsillar areas
- Rub swab over both tonsillar pillars and posterior oropharynx
- Avoid touching tongue, teeth, and gums
Specimen Preparation
- Add extraction reagent to tube and place on workstation
- Insert swab into extraction tube and roll at least 5 times while pressing against tube bottom
- Leave swab in tube for one minute
- Remove swab while squeezing tube sides to extract liquid
- Insert dropper tip into extraction tube
Test Procedure
- Equilibrate test device and specimens to 15-30°C (59-86°F)
- Remove test cassette from sealed pouch
- Transfer 3 drops (approximately 100μL) to specimen well
- Interpret results at 15 minutes (do not read after 20 minutes)
Result Interpretation
