The gasket sits between the cap and the bottle. It's primary function is to offer proper sealing of the product and it determines the closure's fit and function viability. Since the gasket facing is in direct contact with the product, chemical compatibility is critical. An impropriety will allow leakage of the product during transit, causing quality problems. It is this liner that often overlooked between your cap and bottle.

The gasket is covered both sides with a polymer film, most frequently HDPE or LDPE, or a multilayer film (lamination of several barrier structures) that will meet markets’ requirements.
