Product Description

Microwave chemical reactor

Microwaves are high-frequency electromagnetic waves. They do not generate heat by themselves. Due to their scattered and uncoherent nature in nature, microwaves cannot be used as an energy source. However, magnetrons can convert electrical energy into microwaves. With an oscillation frequency of 2450 MHz per second, they can penetrate various media. When the medium has a suitable dielectric constant and dielectric loss, it will undergo high-frequency oscillation in the alternating electromagnetic field, thereby accumulating energy within the medium. For chemical reactions, both thermal and non-thermal effects can be produced simultaneously.

Non-polar materials such as tetrafluoroethylene; but they will be reflected on the metal surface. The power output of the magnetron in household microwave ovens is basically fixed. The smaller power is achieved by changing the on/off time of the current (proportion of empty time) to realize. The microcomputer can implement timing more strictly by controlling the on/off of the current, and the same working conditions can be selected to obtain repeated chemical reaction conditions.

Advantages

Compared with traditional heating reaction equipment such as oil bath, water bath, and electric heating mantle, the advantages of microwave chemical reactors mainly lie in the following 5 aspects:
Fast heating speed and high reaction efficiency: Traditional heating requires heat to be conducted through the container wall, resulting in a slow heating rate (for example, it takes 30-60 minutes to rise from room temperature to 150℃); while microwave heating directly acts on the internal reaction system, increasing the heating speed by 3-10 times, and most reactions can be completed within minutes to tens of minutes, significantly shortening the experimental and production cycles.
Uniform heating and high product yield: Traditional heating often leads to the problem of "the container wall temperature being higher than the internal system temperature", resulting in local overheating and an increase in side reactions; microwave heating causes molecules in the system to vibrate synchronously, resulting in uniform temperature distribution (the temperature difference is usually ≤ 5℃), which can reduce the formation of by-products and typically increase the yield of the target product by 10%-30%.
Energy saving, reduced consumption, and environmental friendliness: During traditional heating, a large amount of heat is lost through the container wall (thermal efficiency is only 30%-50%); microwave heating has a thermal efficiency of over 80% and does not require preheating, and can quickly cool down after the reaction, significantly reducing energy consumption (compared with traditional equipment, energy saving is 40%-60%), which is in line with the development concept of green chemistry.
Strong controllability and convenient operation: The equipment is equipped with a digital control panel, which can precisely set parameters such as temperature (room temperature - 300℃, some high-temperature models can reach 500℃), pressure, reaction time, stirring speed, etc., and display real-time data; some intelligent models support connection to a computer to achieve automatic control of the reaction process and data recording, reducing human operational errors.
Wide applicability and strong compatibility: It can be adapted to various reaction types, such as substitution reactions, addition reactions, and ring formation reactions in organic synthesis, synthesis of nano materials and catalysts in material preparation, and wastewater degradation in environmental treatment (such as microwave-assisted oxidation treatment of organic wastewater); it also supports various reaction container specifications to meet different needs from small-scale experiments to pilot production.
