Molecular Sieve type 3A is an alkali metal alumino-silicate; it is the potassium form of the type A crystal structure. Type 3A has an effective pore opening of about 3 angstroms (0.3nm). This is large enough to allow in moisture, but excludes molecules such as unsaturated hydrocarbons which can potentially form polymers; and this maximizes lifetime when dehydrating such molecules.

Shanghai Xuefeng Molecular Sieve Co., Ltd. is a professional manufacturer of molecular sieve products, which belongs to Zhengzhou Xueshan Industrial Co., Ltd. Located in Shanghai Xinzhuang Industrial Zone, covering an area of 24 acer, it has nearly 7000 square meters of most standardized workshop, production equipment and testing instruments. At present, there are a series of stereotyped products such as type A (3a, 4a, 5a), X and so on, as many as 25 varieties have been put on the market.

The products are widely used in natural gas, oil refining, petrochemical, steel, light industry, air separation oxygen production and alcohol dehydration and other industrial fields, and have many successful examples in the deep drying, purification and separation of large and medium-sized industrial equipment at home and abroad. Shanghai Xuefeng has introduced and digested the production technology of similar foreign products. The raw powder produced by our own Xueshan Industrial Company is added with clay strengthening agent. After kneading, roasting and activation, the appearance is beige or light gray.
