AMS4928 Gr5 6Al4V Forged Titanium Ring

A titanium seamless rolled ring is made in three steps: a preform is pressed from a cut ingot, a hole is punched in the centre to form a doughnut shape, and the preform is then expanded on a ring mill to the required dimensions. This process directs the grain flow in tangential and radial directions and gives the part high strength, ductility and resistance to impact and fatigue. This ring is supplied in Gr5 (6Al-4V) and other grades to ASTM B381 and AMS4928.

Seamless rolled rings are used in oil and gas, power generation, mining, aerospace and other critical applications where performance cannot be compromised. Because the grain flow follows the shape of the part, a rolled ring carries higher strength and fatigue resistance than a part cut from plate, and material waste is reduced during production.
