This titanium welding wire is supplied as ErTi5 (titanium with 5% erbium) and Ti6Al4V (Grade 5) in diameters of 0.6 mm, 0.8 mm and 1 mm for MIG or TIG welding, and the range extends from 0.02 mm to 6.0 mm in straight or coil form. The wire is cold rolled and annealed with a polished surface, has good weldability and moderate machinability, and material composition is Ti above 90% with alloying elements varying by grade.

ErTi5 and Ti6Al4V titanium alloys are used where high strength, excellent corrosion resistance and biocompatibility are required, particularly in aerospace, medical devices and high performance engineering. As welding wire or rod for MIG and TIG welding they produce strong, durable and precise welds that maintain the integrity of the parent material. ErTi5 contains 5% erbium, a rare earth element that stabilises the arc, reduces spatter and improves strength and toughness at elevated temperature, while Ti6Al4V offers one of the highest strength-to-weight ratios of any metal together with resistance to saltwater and acids and good biocompatibility for implants and devices.
