ASME Gr5 Gr7 Titanium Two Way Ball Valve

This ASME two-way titanium ball valve is made from Gr5 (Ti-6Al-4V) and Gr7 (Ti-0.3Mo-0.8Ni) titanium alloys and is designed for high pressure release duty. Gr5 provides a high strength-to-weight ratio and fatigue resistance, while Gr7 uses small amounts of molybdenum and nickel to improve corrosion resistance, particularly against chloride induced stress corrosion cracking. The valve has a female end connection, a working temperature range of 150 to 425 degrees, and a titanium trim with 99.6% titanium content.

This valve is used where high pressure media must be released safely, including oil and gas, petrochemical and chemical manufacturing plants, and in marine and desalination systems where chlorides attack ordinary stainless steels. Titanium gives low weight together with high strength, and the Gr5 and Gr7 combination provides both durability and corrosion resistance in harsh environments. The cavity pressure relief and top entry design make the valve easier to maintain and safer in service.
