Gr17 Titanium Seamless Tube ASTM B338 16m
Titanium tube is about half the weight of steel, so it can match steel strength at lower mass, giving it a high strength to weight ratio. Titanium has a low density, is ductile in an oxygen free environment and melts above 1650 degrees Centigrade. It is a paramagnetic alloy. This Gr17 tube is supplied as welded or seamless tube to ASTM B337, ASTM B338 and ASTM B861.

Applications & Titanium Advantages
This tube is used in condensers, heat exchangers, medical and sports equipment, aerospace, desalination, pure chlor-alkali, oil and vacuum salt service, and for chemical plant piping. Titanium resists corrosion in chloride and oxidising media and keeps a passive oxide film, so the tube performs well where steel would corrode. During field welding, titanium should be shielded with an inert gas to keep oxygen away from the weld.
Quality & Inspection
Main quality indicators are chemical composition, mechanical property and tolerance, and the original Mill Test Certificate can be attached to the delivery. Tubes are packed in protective bags inside poly-wooden cases, and third party testing is available on request. Please send your specification and quantity for a quotation.
