ASTM A285 Grade C is a low to intermediate yield steel used in the fabrication of carbon steel pressure vessels and boilers.

The steel is intended for use in standard tanks and boilers rather than high pressurised vessels due to the steels lower yield strength. ASTM A285 Grade C is supplied throughout the oil gas and petrochemical industry.

The material has good forming and welding characteristics under conventional methods.

What is Hot rolled?

Using continuous casting slabs or preliminary rolled slabs as raw materials, heated by a step-type heating furnace, high-pressure water dephosphorization enters the rough rolling mill, the rough rolling material is cut through the head, tail, and then into the finishing mill, and computer controlled rolling is implemented. After the final rolling, it is coiled by laminar cooling (computer-controlled cooling rate) and coiler to become a straight hair coil. Straight hair curls tend to have tongue and fishtail shapes, with poor thickness and width accuracy, and often have defects such as wave, hem, and tower.
