TMCN1 is Ni-Cr steel with added Mo and V and good thoughness and resistance to temperature changes.

Applications
Pilger mandrels up to diameter 140 -200 mm.

Soft Annealing
Heat to 620-680^oC, cool slowly.

Stress Relieving
Stress relieving to remove machining stresses should be carried out by heating to 600-650^oC, holding for one hour at heat, followed by air cooling. This operation is performed to reduce distortion during heat treatment.

Hardening
Harden from a temperature of 840-870^oC followed by oil or air quenching.

Tempering
Tempering temperature: 620-670^oC.

Forging
Hot forming temperature: 1050-850^oC.
