Fail Safe Return 600Nm 45S IP68 ATEX CSA Explosion Proof Valve Actuator
The DCL-Ex explosion-proof electric actuator range offers an optional fail-safe module for hazardous-area valves requiring a defined response to external power loss. During normal operation, the internal circuit charges a supercapacitor or battery. When external power is unexpectedly disconnected, stored energy powers the motor to move the valve to a preset fully open or fully closed position, or retain its current position. Once external power returns, the actuator automatically exits fail-safe mode and resumes normal operation.
The fail-safe components are integrated within the actuator housing, supporting compact equipment layouts. The range allows mounting through 360° and provides ISO 5211 mounting interfaces. Standard output torque ranges from 50 to 3000 Nm, with an IP68 enclosure and a stated ambient-temperature range of -25°C to +55°C. The literature specifies stored energy for at least four full-stroke operations; available movements under actual valve load and fail-safe operating time should be confirmed for the selected configuration.
The product documentation includes ATEX, IECEx and CSA certification information, with markings such as Ex db h IIC T4 Gb and Class I, Division 1, Groups C and D, T5/T6. Selection should verify the certificate scope, gas group, temperature code and installation conditions for the specific model, together with valve torque, the required power-loss position and control mode.
