Description
DCL common series electric actuator are typically used to drive quarter turn butterfly valves, ball valves, dampers and swinging arms. On receipt of a continuous power signal, the motor runs one direction and via an all metal gear box with last stage worm gear train rotates the output drive 90°. The motor is automatically stopped by internal cams striking limit switches. On receipt of a reversing continuous signal, the motor turns in the opposite direction reversing the output drive position.
All DCL electric actuators uses special formulated copper alloy worm gear. Worm gear is monolithic casting with this material instead of plating copper on the surface, which increases its overall strength and abrasion resistance ability.
The easiest broken part for electric actuator is the last stage worm gear or spur gear, because it is close to the output drive and suffers the biggest torque and friction. So last stage worm gear directly influences the operation life time of actuator. So DCL designs large worm gear with longer radius(arm) to make the force on wheel teeth less, when same torque added. Moreover, instead of plating copper to the surface, DCL actuator’s whole worm wheel is definitely totally built by bronze alloy.
