System Description:

The chamber helium leak test system proposed has the totally automatic cycle with manual load and unload of the tested piece.

The Test Cycle can be described in the following way:

Manual load of the tested piece in the Test Chamber.

Closure of the Chamber.

Evacuation of the Chamber to a value of vacuum suitable for Leak Test with Mass Spectrometer. During the evacuation of the Chamber, the system will run the following Tests on the tested piece:

Pressure decay to reveal Gross Leaks;

Tested piece evacuation;

Reaching a vacuum value suitable for transfer, that is to put the mass spectrometer in communication with the Test Chamber.

Reading of background, which is the residual Helium in the Test Chamber.

Pressurization of tested piece with Helium.

Leak test with Mass Spectrometer.

Ventilation of the Test Chamber (return to atmospheric pressure),

Helium Recovery from tested piece.

Opening of the Chamber

Manual unloads of tested piece.
