The OM4 fiber patch cable was explicitly developed for VSCEL laser transmission and allowed 40G link distances of up to 150 Meters or 100G link distances of up to 100 Meters. This cable is entirely backward compatible with your existing 50/125 equipment as well as with 10 Gigabit Ethernet applications. OM4 fiber patch cable gives the cabling infrastructure user better performance to support longer distances or more connections.
