The Cisco N9K-C9508-FM-E2 is a high-performance, fourth-generation cloud-scale fabric module engineered for the Cisco Nexus 9508 modular chassis. As the successor to the FM-E module, the FM-E2 leverages Cisco’s CloudScale ASIC S6400 to deliver 64x100G fabric connectivity per module, effectively doubling the bandwidth density of earlier designs.

Designed for modern data center architectures, this 8-slot fabric module delivers up to 800 Gbps of bandwidth per slot, enabling consistent, predictable performance across high-density switching deployments. It utilizes a Clos fabric architecture to ensure efficient load balancing and uninterrupted data flow between line cards. The FM-E2 is hot-swappable, allowing for simplified maintenance and improved uptime, and is optimized for both Cisco NX-OS and Cisco ACI environments
