Huawei OptiX OSN 7500 Intelligent Optical Switching System

The Huawei OptiX OSN 7500 is a next-generation intelligent optical switching system developed by Huawei based on the current applications and development trends of metropolitan area networks (MANs). It is an Optical Core Switching (OCS) device applied to service scheduling nodes at the backbone layer of MANs, capable of scheduling and transmitting services of different types and granularities.

As a 10G intelligent multi-service transport platform (MSTP), the OSN 7500 inherits all the features of MSTP technology while maintaining full compatibility with traditional SDH and MSTP networks. It integrates SDH, PDH, Ethernet, WDM, ATM, ESCON, FC/FICON, DVB-ASI, and RPR technologies into a single platform, providing a smooth migration path from legacy SDH networks to intelligent optical networks.

The OSN 7500 employs a unified switching architecture, enabling it to function as either an MPLS/MPLS-TP-based packet device or a TDM device. It supports pure packet mode, pure TDM mode, and hybrid (packet + TDM) networking modes, achieving optimal processing for both packet services and traditional SDH services

The OptiX OSN series products use a unified switching architecture that meets the requirements of both conventional TDM services and growing packet services. This architecture supports:

• Pure TDM Mode: Traditional SDH/SONET transport

• Pure Packet Mode: Native MPLS/MPLS-TP packet transport

• Hybrid Mode: Concurrent TDM + packet transport on the same chassis

The OSN 7500 uses built-in WDM technology to transmit multiple wavelengths over a single optical fiber, enabling flexible networking and seamless interconnection with WDM equipment.

Provides a comprehensive solution for 3G/LTE mobile backhaul based on its packet domain, achieving convergence and scheduling of wireless services at the core layer.

Based on MPLS/MPLS-TP architecture, the TP-assist feature provides:
