Sampling Procedure
- Mark sample information on the label before sampling
- Collect specimen using the swab:
- Nasal swab: Gently insert swab into nasal cavity for sampling, use another swab for the other nasal passage
- Throat swab: Collect throat sample following standard medical protocols
- Place swab into transport tube containing virus transport medium after sampling
- Snap swab at the breakpoint (80mm) into transport tube and screw cap tightly
- Transport collected samples to laboratory with ice packs for optimal preservation
