The 2205 duplex stainless steel standard no.: ASTM A240/A240M--01. It is composed of 22% chromium, 2.5% molybdenum and 4.5% nickel-nitrogen alloy. It has high strength, good impact toughness and good overall and local resistance to stress corrosion. The high yield strength of 2205 duplex stainless steel makes itself light, boasting a price advantage over 316 and 317 L. It is particularly suitable for temperatures in the -50°F/+600°F range.
The 2205 duplex stainless steel capillary tube can be produced into heat exahanger tube for petrochemical, chemical and ocean development fields, heater tubes, condenser tubes, sulfuric and phosphoric acids tubes, API tubes. It also can be used for gas turbine and prochemical processing as well as construction and ornament.
Tiptop offers a variety of duplex stainless steel, super duplex stainless steel welded and seamless tubing, depending upon the properties the tubing is required to exhibit. Other alloys and sizes are also available upon request. Duplex stainless steels (named for their austenite and ferrite compositions), has greater yield strength than austenitic stainless steel.
Standard: ASTM-A 789 Standard specification for seamless and welded ferretic/austenitic stainless steel tubing for general service. This specification covers various grades of duplex stainless steels.
