Wet pan mill is a widely used gold and silver ore grinding machine in countries of Africa and South America. It is popular due to its low investment, simple operation and maintenance, as well as rapid cost recovery. The most common method is to add mercury into the wet pan mill and mix the gold particles with mercury, which is known as amalgamation. Subsequently, the mixture of gold and mercury can be placed into a crucible for high-temperature heating. During this process, mercury is evaporated, leaving pure gold in the crucible.
working principle
The main working parts of the wet pan mill machine are the motor, gearbox, crank shaft, grinding roller and ring. The motor provides power to the gearbox by rotating, and this power is passed to the two rollers via the gearbox and crank shaft. Then the two rollers rotate along the track of the grinding ring. The small stones inside the ring are crushed and ground into powder because of the strong force from the grinding roller. The powder and water inside the wet pan mill are mixed and turn into slurry. The gold particles combine with the mercury and then form amalgam.
