I.Introduction

An X running tool is a special tool used to run and set X/XN type lock mandrel. It can set the type X/XN lock mandrel into X/XN landing nipple selectively.

The X running tool consists of fishing neck, inner sleeve, stop pin, main spring, spring housing, dog spring, split ring, locator dog, dog housing, crescent slide, retainer dog and mandrel. Enclosed is the assembly drawing.Before operation, the retainer dog catches the inner fishing neck of lock mandrel, and then connect the lock mandrel to the mandrel by shear pin. Make the crescent slide stuck into the groove of mandrel to

prevent movement. The locator dog will retreat to the groove of inner sleeve when the X running tool is entering the landing nipple. After passing through the landing nipple, the locator dog will expand automatically with the action of the dog spring.
