Wear in the joints at the end of the drag link in a steering system will result in play in the steering. It will not affect the wheel alignment as that is determined by the track rod (tie rod in USA). Drag links have a significant influence on the performance of the vehicles steering system, worn or damaged drag link ends can be the root cause of many steering system problems including darting and wandering. When replacing a drag link it is critical to reset the steering gear plungers. Refer to resetting the plungers for more information.
