Abutment level impressions are performed in a similar fashion as tissue level solid abutment impressions. Color coded plastic impression copings are snapped over already installed abutments intended for this simplified impression method.

Plastic impression copings are color coded according the implant/abutment platform diameter, abutment height and emergence profile of the abutment. Eight different combinations are possible with this impression technique system. Blue (3.5mm emergence profile) and yellow (5mm emergence profile) components indicate the NC platform (Fig.13) and gray (5mm emergence profile) and brown (6.5mm emergence profile) indicate the RC platform (Fig.14).
