End mill Helix angle: The flutes of the milling cutter are almost always spiral. If the chip flute is straight, the entire cutting edge will immediately impact the material, causing vibration and reducing accuracy and surface quality. Setting the chip flute at a certain angle can make the blade gradually enter the material and reduce vibration. Generally, fine finishing tools have a higher helix angle for better processing. Standard carbide end mill helix angle is 30 or 45degree.
