The spiral groove tap is divided into left-hand spiral groove tap and right-hand spiral groove tap. The geometric parameters of spiral groove taps include the helix angle, chip groove, front angle, and back angle. Spiral flute tap has the advantages of long service life, high efficiency, low cost, good cooling and lubrication conditions, smooth cutting, easy thread insertion and small torque. According to different working conditions, different helix angles are adopted, the common ones are right rotation 15 ° and 42 ° respectively. Generally speaking, the larger the helix angle, the better the chip removal performance. Carbide spiral flute tap is suitable for blind hole tapping, however, it is not recommended for through hole tapping. The materials used for super pressure facilities are characterized by high strength and high toughness,to tap threaded holes on such materials,the traditional straight flute tap doesn’t  work, however, the spiral flute tap does, it solves the problem of tap large threaded holes on these difficult-to- machine materials.
