HDPE Cross Laminated Film for Asphalt Waterproof Membranes & Synthetic Roofing Underlayment
HDPE Cross Laminated Film-60B is a high-strength functional film produced from high-density polyethylene through multi-layer co-extrusion, multi-direction stretching, 45° rotary cutting, and cross lamination technology.
Two or more stretched film layers are laminated at a 45° crossing angle to form a bidirectional reinforced mesh structure. This results in:
- Balanced strength in machine direction (MD) and transverse direction (TD)
- Excellent dimensional stability
- High tear and puncture resistance
- Improved deformation resistance under load
The film is specially suited for asphalt waterproof membranes and synthetic roofing underlayment, enhancing durability and reliability in roofing applications.
Traditional PE films often encounter problems when used in roofing membranes:
- Tears or punctures during installation
- Membrane deformation or bubbling
- Shrinkage under heat
- Reduced durability in outdoor conditions
Such issues compromise waterproof performance, membrane longevity, and structural stability.
Ordinary films lack cross-direction reinforcement. Stress applied during installation or under environmental load is concentrated in one direction, leading to:
- Edge tearing
- Crack propagation
- Reduced puncture resistance
- Dimensional instability
- Shorter service life
Our HDPE Cross Laminated Film uses a 45° cross-lamination structure that evenly distributes stress in both MD and TD directions.
- Enhances asphalt membrane tensile strength
- Prevents bubbling and surface deformation
- Improves tear and puncture resistance
- Maintains dimensional stability under temperature variations
- Supports long-term outdoor durability

Used as reinforcement in asphalt waterproof membranes to improve:
- Tensile strength
- Tear and puncture resistance
- Surface stability
- Long-term durability under outdoor conditions
Provides a strong, dimensionally stable base layer for synthetic roofing underlayment:
- Prevents stretching and shrinkage
- Enhances membrane strength
- Resists mechanical damage during installation
- Supports durable roofing systems
- Multi-layer co-extrusion blown film
- Multi-directional stretching
- 45° rotary cutting
- Cross-angle lamination
- Solvent-free bonding
This structure distributes stress across both MD and TD directions, reducing tearing and improving stability.
- Select higher tensile strength for heavy traffic or roof slope
- Low shrinkage recommended for heat-resistance
- Choose 0.10–0.12 mm thickness for standard roofing
- Optional UV-resistant or dual-color film for outdoor durability
Q1: Can this film be used in both asphalt and synthetic roofing membranes?
Yes, the cross-laminated HDPE film is optimized for both applications.
Q2: What thickness is recommended for roofing underlayment?
Standard thickness: 0.10–0.12 mm. Custom thickness available for specialized applications.
Q3: Does the film resist tearing and puncture during installation?
Yes, the bidirectional cross-laminated structure improves tear and puncture resistance significantly.
