Initial balance is crucial for all LiFePO4 cells, regardless of grade or condition. Voltage alone is unreliable for determining state of charge due to the flat charge/discharge curve. Proper balancing ensures accurate capacity testing and prevents BMS triggers during operation.
For large battery banks or cells with varying internal resistance, manual top balancing is recommended. Parallel connection allows natural balancing but can take weeks or months. Professional balancing ensures optimal performance and longevity.
