The oil needs to be removed from the compressed air.
The oil separator ensures that as much oil as possible is removed and returned to the compressor for lubrication, making the air clean and oil-free.
Separator filters are crucial for your compressed air system to work properly. If your system has an incorrect separation filter, this can cause oil to be carried. The purpose of the separation filter is to extract oil from the compressed air and return it to the lubrication system.
Typically, the air coming out of the separation tank contains about two to three PPM of residual lubricating oil. If there is a significant increase in oil load, the separator strainer should be replaced.
