Air Compressor Valves Minimum Pressure Valve Screw Compressor
The rotary screw compressor does not have an oil pump. The oil is pumped through the system through the pressure difference existing inside the compressor.
For the above reasons, when the compressor is just started, the pressure needs to be established as soon as possible.
If the compressor is connected to an empty gas tank or piping system, it will take a long time to build up the pressure (very long time). Therefore, the minimum pressure valve will remain closed until the minimum pressure is reached inside the air compressor. This minimum pressure is usually about 4 bar.
The minimum pressure valve also functions like a check valve. This is to ensure that no air can flow back to the air compressor.
