This steel has medium cold workability, average cutting performance, poor weldability, sensitivity to the formation of white spots, and temper brittleness. GCr15 bearing steel typically contains C 0.95-1.05, Mn 0.25-0.45, Si 0.15-0.35, S ≤ 0.025, P ≤ 0.025, Cr 1.40-1.65, Mo ≤ 0.10, Ni ≤ 0.30, Cu ≤ 0.25, and Ni+Cu ≤ 0.50.
