In view of the historical background of the absence and diversification of ethnic elements in modern Chinese furniture, this paper reexamines the relationship among traditional culture, people and times. It deeply analyzes the connotation of traditional culture, analyzes the relationship between it and modern design, and forms the symbiosis between traditional cultural elements and modern furniture design. To provide a new perspective and approach for Chinese modern furniture design, this paper draws nutrition from Chinese traditional culture and refines it from semiotics, form and meaning, empathy and other aspects.
