Why use fiberglass and PMI foam making radome ?
Aircraft radomes usually use single-layer thin-walled glass fiber composite materials and honeycomb sandwich glass fiber composite materials. The single-layer thin-walled glass fiber composite radome is heavy and easily deformed; due to the anisotropy of the honeycomb, the honeycomb sandwich glass fiber composite material deteriorates when the signal is incident at a large angle.
Recommended PMI foam for radar and radome:
- XK52, XK75, XK110 in medium temperature PMI foam;
- FXK52 and FXK75, FXK110 in PMI medium temperature foam;
