MC Silicone TA01 Thixotropic agent is used to thicken the viscosity for two part liquid silicone. It can be used with condensation cure silicones. First at all add the catalyst to the base, then add 0.5-2 % of TA01 on the weight of the silicone rubber. Mix for 3-5 minutes, you get a very viscous mass, which can be applied in vertical piece.

Mixing

We recommends that the catalyzed material be tested on a small area of the mold prior to use. Thixotropic Agent TA01 should be added at 0.5-2% by weight to the material to be modified. Material should be mixed in a clean, compatible metal or plastic container. The volume of the container should be 3-4 times the volume of the material to be mixed. This allows for expansion of the siloxane material as it de-aeration.

Mix thoroughly by hand or with mixing equipment while minimizing air entrapment until a homogeneous mixture is obtained. This will occur when the material takes on a uniform color with no visible striations. The material should stand for 2 – 3 minutes for the effect of the thixotropic agent to be realized.

Storage and shelf life

This product is best when used within 24 months from date of manufacture.

Product should be stored in its original, unopened container in an environment that does not exceed 30 °C (86 °F).

Storage beyond the date specified on the label does not necessarily mean that the product is no longer usable. In this case, the properties required for the intended use should be checked for quality assurance reasons.
