What is RTV-2 platinum cured liquid silicone rubber

Addition cure silicone rubber Silicone Rubber is a two-part, platinum-catalyzed, liquid silicone system that cures (RTV) to a flexible rubber. The polymerization can be accelerated by applying heat. The silicone components are delivered as liquids, which once mixed and cured into elastic and resistant material.

What are the Advantages of RTV-2 platinum cured silicone rubber

#Convenient to operate because the RTV property

#Easy to mix due to the low viscosity (6000~9000Cps)

#High duplication because of high tear and tensile strength

#Long library life with low shrinkage(0.01%)

#Food Safe,Skin Safe, Odor-free

What are the Applications of RTV-2 platinum cured silicone rubber

1.mold making for various materials

polyurethane and other reactive resins

Small pieces of cement,plaster,gypsum,concrete products.

Food like chocolate,fondants,desserts

Wax,candle,soap;

2.casting body parts, silicone dolls ,shoe insole.

Processing and Instructions of Addition Cure Liquid Silicones

Step 1
The ideal working temperature is around a constant 25°C. Best results can be obtained at constant temperatures between 21°C and 26°C, in a clean, dry, dust-free environment. Avoid working in high humidity.

Step 2
Measure product in accordance with your intended use. Prepare 1 part A to 1 part B by weight and pour into a clean, smooth-sided container large enough to hold all the liquid and allow room for mixing.

Step 3
The material must be mixed thoroughly for at least 5 minutes. make sure to scrape the container sides, bottom, and corners as you mix. Be careful not to whip excessive air into the mixture.

Step 4

Prepare a container(not silicone material),add the item and keep them face up.
Pour the mixed silicone onto the container and distribute evenly to cover the top of the item by at least 6-7mm

Step 5
Adjust the position and then let it cure, the bubbles will melt gradually.

Step 6
Pull the item out of the mold

Note:
Contamination from sulfur (e.g., sulfur-based clay), amines, tin compounds, cured polyester resin, some paints and some silicone rubbers may inhibit surface cure of platinum-cured rubbers.
Apply a release agent, Although not usually necessary, a release agent will make demolding easier when casting into most surfaces.
