Hardness:
HB - 270.
Heat treatment:
Most steel hardening treatments involve heating the steel to a set temperature and then rapidly cooling it by immersing it in oil or water. EN8 and EN353 steels are readily available and inexpensive materials suitable for heavy-duty applications.
Hardening:
Hardening °C 780-820.
Tempering:
EN353 is reheated to 780C -- 820°C, held until the entire section is uniform in temperature, and then quenched in oil, which must be tempered immediately while the EN353 assembly is still warm. Heat to 150C -- 200°C, soak for 1 -- 2 hours / 25mm slice, then cool in still air. Hardness after tempering: 62-64 HRC.
Forging performance:
The EN353 steel round bar offers a good combination of ductility, strength and wear resistance. EN353 is a very high strength alloy engineering steel.
Stress relief:
150-200, cool in the furnace.
First preheating °C: up to approx. 400 air circulation furnace
Second and third: 780 and 805°C.
Standardization:
860 -- 890 °C in air.
Annealing:
630-670 ° C
