Stand-alone Flexible Screw Conveyors typically include an inlet, auger, casing, discharge box and drive assembly. We offer standard as well as custom designed inlets. Typical hopper sizes include 3.5 (26 inches square x 26 inches tall), 8 (36 inches square x 36 inches tall) and 12 (42 inches square x 36 inches tall) cubic foot capacities. To obtain addition capacity vertical side walls are added to meet the customer requirements. Many materials to be conveyed require flow aids such as externally mounted hopper vibrators (electric or pneumatically powered), paddle or ribbon style agitator assemblies built-in to the hopper, fluidizing pads usually about 3 mounted directly into the inlet area and conical hoppers with 70 degree side walls.

The auger and casing is typically selected next based upon the customer rate requirements and material characteristics. Conveyor sizes range from 2.5 inches up to 8 inches as shown in the chart below. In addition augers offered include flat wire, bevel edge, square bar, and round wire. The discharge box is generally setup for a 45 degree discharge however we offer 0, 15, 30, 45, 60 and 90 degree discharges which is dependent upon conveyor diameter and the customers layout. The drives that provide the auger rotation include both in-line ratio multipliers and right angle gearboxes. Right angle gearboxes are usually selected where headroom is an issue and if a very low auger speed is required. Typical auger rotations range from 60 to 350 RPM. There are many options for motors including standard TEFC, premier efficient, wash down duty, inverter duty and various explosion proof models.
